Houston Museum of Natural Science

We took the kids to the HMNS on Thursday! We have yearly passes so we will be going back to the planetarium and the butterflies! Claire has been looking forward to this trip all summer! She was very excited for the mummies!

I'm often amazed by our amazing God through sunsets, and plants and geographical features...today I was in awe by the tiniest of things - minerals and gems. God creates beauty through some of the smallest things.

Friday we took Cole for his yearly visit to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital (TSRH).  We were given a GREAT update. First, Cole's length discrepancy is at 5 cm which at this time last year he was at 4 cm.  The good news is - the length is not interfering with his tendons, ligaments, joints, or hips.  His bend is continuing to straighten on its own!  Dr. Karol kept saying over and over again "its just a miracle!" He is becoming more of a candidate for internal limb lengthening (which wasn't even an option when we started this process 5 years ago).  The internal limb lengthening will allow him to still go to public school and be around people.  The procedure will still take 6 months but the fact that he will be able to go into public is HUGE!!!  We dropped off two new pairs of shoes for lifts to be put on, they should be here by next Friday! 

He has grown so much from our first appointment here!  God is moving mountains for this boy!!!

Our appointment went FAST and it seemed silly just to turn around and drive home..and it was Fun Day Friday! So, we headed over to the Dallas World Aquarium!  The kids loved it!  

The sloth was awake and moving all over the place. It was the craziest thing. People who go all the time were saying they had never seen him awake.

And then Cole saw the sting rays and we almost couldn't get him to leave. The past two aquariums we have taken them to they were allowed to pet the sting rays. Cole's hand was in the water quicker than lightening.

And then Callen found Dory.  He is in love with that fish!

While walking through the book store Callen spotted Dory again. We quickly realized, after he hugged her, squealed over her, danced with her, that he was not leaving with out her. 

 We had a fun day together. I love making memories as a family. Even memories that start at 4 am and include 8 hours in a car! 

Cole's 6th birthday party

I've come a long way in my birthday planning.  I totally let Cole decide what all he wanted to do at his party. I tried to add a few things and then realized that - he didn't want to do those things so we took them out.  Cole wanted a Captain America Civil War party.  He wanted to have a Disney Infinity Marvel Battleground tournament, a shield throwing competition, and he wanted a pinata.  So that is what we did.  It was a fun party and towards the end he said - this was the best party ever!
