Love Bugs

I have found the one thing I HATE about this town!!!!  Love bugs!  They are SOOOO gross!  We don't have these in Ft. Worth - or as I like to say - up north!  They thankfully don't bite or sting - but they swarm...makes me shudder just thinking about it!  Standing out at recess I will have about 100 around me.  Thankfully, I am told, they only come out in the Fall and Spring.  I am so ready for it to be cold so they will go away.  All you Texas peeps up north...be thankful we don't have these nasty things there!!!

Tiny Dancer

Not only did Claire start school on August 26th, she started dance too!!!  Obviously we are at a new studio (driving to Ft. Worth once a week would be silly!).  Claire is taking dance at the Dance Studio in a small town outside of Livingston.  Ms. Jenny goes to our church and we LOVE her.  Claire is loving dance.  She is in the 6-8 year old class because it was the only one that fit in our schedules and she is holding her own.  She takes ballet, tap, jazz, and clogging.  Jazz and clogging are new for her and jazz seems to be the one she struggles with the most - but this girl practices!  The first week she had such a hard time with jazz leaps and she worked on them at home - usually when no one was watching, and this week she rocked them!!!  She is now determined to stretch enough each week so she can do the splits like Ms. Jenny.  Ballet is her favorite and she is such a beautiful ballerina! I love watching her dance.  I take a book to read each week and I usually only get through a few pages because I am watching her.

Claire's first day of Kindergarten!!!

I can not believe I haven't blogged about this!!  Oh wait! Yes I can - I also started school last week and it has been INSANE!!!  Claire started Kindergarten last Monday.  I know everyone says it but, where has the time gone?!?!  I fee like I was just handed her in the hospital - I can remember every vivid detail like it was yesterday.  Anyways!  I used to make fun of those momma's who dropped their kids off in my classroom on the first day crying their eyes out...Well I lost it pulling away from the house on Monday morning.  It might have been that I was missing her big moment so I could welcome 20 fourth graders into my room...but I cried none the less.  Claire had a fabulous day!  She loves school so much and LOVES her teacher!  She even got to ride the school bus over to my campus after school let out.  She loves the bus!

She has her name tag on!
All students K-8th grade are served breakfast in our district.  Monday morning they just happened to be serving Claire's favorite cereal!

This was her right after she got off the bus!!! 2 thumbs up for an awesome day!  That night she literally squealed when she asked if she could go back the next day and we said yes!
