Kindergarten meet the teacher

My baby is starting kindergarten. I can't believe it. I used to make fun of those moms who dropped their kids off crying on the first day - I am praying I make it through Monday (I have to teach and all...) We went a few hours before the actual meet the teacher since mine was at the same time. Claire has a great teacher - Mrs. Morris. She has been teaching kindergarten for 12 or 13 years. We are so very excited about this upcoming school year!!!!!

First day of Pre-K

Cole started pre-k on Tuesday. We were recommended this school by a lot of people in town. Cole LOVES school!! He asked to go back each day!! His teachers said that he is an awesome listener and very sweet and kind. Music to my ears!!! We are rejoicing that his first week was so great!!

The rest of our summer

Summer in Livingston zoomed past! I felt like everyday we were either unpacking, had an event at church, or random plans with friends. I tried to fit some quality time in with my kids by doing just small things.
I took Claire on a shopping date for back to school clothes!
Claire had some serious teeth problems. 3 days before we moved I took the kids to get their teeth cleaned. Claire had a small cavity - so small they didn't even numb her to fill it. Jump forward a month. We had a REALLY hard week. Claire just wouldn't sleep. She would cry all night long and couldn't tell us what was wrong. She did tell us she missed her old house and her friends and so we thought that it was a transition thing. Then she started complaining about her tooth hurting. We noticed that she was biting the inside of her cheek and just played it off as a mouth sore. Three days passed and she started running low grade fever and the pain was so bad she was crying all the time. We called a local dentist and begged for them to get us in that day. We went in and he took some X-rays and found that 1) the cavity was bigger than they thought. 2) they drilled into the nerve. 3) the filling had cracked 4) because of all of this she had a horrible infection. He put us on a high dose of antibiotic (every 6 hours even through the night) and refered us to a pediatric dentist. We went the next week and more X-rays happened. We were told she would have a pulpotomy (root canal on a baby tooth) but even after a week on high antibiotic the infection was still really bad. They ended up pulling the tooth and drilling out her jaw bone to get the infection out. She stayed on antibiotic  for several more days and went back this week. They were afraid that they would have to pull another tooth due to infection but it looks cleared up. We go back in two weeks to talk about putting a spacer in her gums so that her teeth come in correctly. We are thankful for God's healing on our Bear. We are also excited about school starting up!!
