Such a long blogging break

I am just going to be honest.  Having 3 kids (one of which still doesn't sleep through the night at 8 months old), a job, getting a new teaching position and having to pack my room and move it across town (3 miles lol), and just the busyness of life have kept me away from my little family blog.  And it makes me sad.  We have experienced and done so much here lately and I would love to do some catch up.  So I will do a word catch up here and a picture catch up soon!!  Maybe even tomorrow...

Back in May I ran over to Claire's school during my conference to hear her sing in their end of year music program. As I was getting ready to leave her principal caught me and asked if I was interested in coming to teach 1st grade at CGE.  I was so shocked.  So I told him to let me think and pray about it over the weekend.  Michael said it was a no brainer.  I have dreamed about the day I would teach at the same school as my kids.  I have loved teaching 4th grade but the stress of the test is insane and it was not good for me or my family.  But, I have built some amazing friendships.  And one thing about teaching - your friends are your family.  You are around them more than your own family.  And that was what made my choice so hard.  But, ultimately when I weighed the pros and cons the pros for moving really out weighed the cons.  So....I will be back to teaching 1st grade next year!  I am soooooo excited!  I am also excited that I will get to be with Claire and Cole everyday!

Callen - he is 8 months old.  He is a very happy baby 90% of the time.  That 10% is HARD!  It is usually between the hours of 8 PM and midnight - every. night. He has 2 bottom teeth.  One about to poke through the top and another on the bottom.  He is absolutely 100% adorable and that is what saves him!  He is crawling every where.  He is pulling up and cruising around furniture.  He loves bath time and has been swimming twice and LOVES it.  Since summer has started we have tried very hard to get him on a sleep schedule.  This has seemed to help his grumpy hours at night. He says - momma, dada, ba ba (bottle), hey, bye bye, and gives the sweetest kisses ever! He is such a momma's boy. Man I love this kid!!!

Cole - will be 5, FIVE in 2 weeks.  I can not believe this.  How did my little boy become 5 and getting ready to head off to kindergarten???? He is hilarious.  He knows he is funny and plays off of it.  We will be going to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital (TSRH) on Friday to look at his leg.  I feel like the length discrepancy has become worse.  It is bothering him more.  He gets tired a lot easier.  He was sitting in my lap the other night and I noticed that his spine is not straight.  So...we are going to get everything checked out and to see what our timeline is.  2 years ago the timeline was to do surgery this summer.  We shall see what they want to do.

Claire - she is reading a lot this summer.  She and Cole are taking swim lessons.  She is in level 3 and is doing awesome!  She started ballet intensives today and they will last almost all summer long.  She told me this spring that she wants to move to Houston, live in the city, and attend Houston School of Ballet.  I told her that she would probably have to live away from mommy and daddy and she said - ok if I can dance all the time I will be ok.  She could end up hating ballet a year from now, but as of today she is in love. She had her recital at the end of May and she did wonderful!  It will be one of the things I am going to do a picture post on.

We still have a lot of things planned this summer - Camp, VBS, day trips, and hopefully a trip to the Beach (the only thing our kids have asked to do).  So here is to catching up the blog and lots of summer fun!!!
