Houston Zoo - Dinosaurs

We took the kids for Fun Day Friday to the Houston Zoo to see the dinosaurs! If you live near here it is TOTALLY worth it! They move and make sounds. When you buy a ticket it allows you to go through as many times as you would like. Cole has been dying to see the dinosaurs and was so excited! When we first got there he was VERY nervous. We just kept reminding him that they weren't real.       This was a true picture of how Cole was feeling at this point! He was fine with all the herbivores! It was the carnivores that had him spooked.

This boy was obsessed with the map. So much we took it away because he was missing animals.      We let the kids play at the splash pad for the first time. It was a perfect way to cool off! They had a blast!    It was a fun day. The crowds were low. The heat wasn't that bad. And the kids were in good moods! All in all it was a win for the day!

Life Lately

Summer is here!!!  We are so thankful for summer time.  Even though we have a packed summer we are thankful for just the slower pace it gives us. The kids have been enjoying summer since May 18th.  They both enjoyed the reward of no flex.  I had to keep on truckin until June 3rd.  My goal...is to at least document our weeks with pictures or a video.  On Fridays we do what is called in our family as Fun Day Fridays.  Michael has the day off so we plan all of our outings for those days.  So while the kids were out and I was still working our FDFs have been movies. This summer has lots of great movies coming out and we love movies so it works for us.
Here is a glimpse into our summer so far
Water fights!  Callen's surprised face gets me each and every time!!!

Last day of work!  Chelsea and I have taught together since we both started working in Livingston. I am so glad to have her by my side!

The day after school let out we made a flying trip to Fort Worth for a graduation party.  We called Brent and Patti and requested a dinner with them.  4 hours later we had to head home. I LOVE them. I love that we can just sit and pick up right where we left off.  I love talking life, ministry, family, Harry Potter, Star Wars, kids, work and everything in between with them!

Our sweet Hannah graduated from high school this year.  We would not have missed her party for anything (well..we almost did with the LARGE amounts of rain and road closures that happened that week)

Michael taught us how to serve like Jesus my first week of summer.  We served at the local Methodist church's VBS. I am so thankful for my husband that he not only loves the Lord so much that he desires the children of Polk county to know Him more, he Loves the Lord so much that he showed me that the church is not FBC - we are the church and we are to break down walls and serve were needed.

This kid! He walked around with this helmet and bat for about 30 minutes and cried when I made him take it off.  We were at the ball park watching some of our kids play ball. What a fun summer night.

Claire's wishes came true when we decided to let her get a kitten. She loves Sokie so much and does everything needed to take care of her. She even cleans the litter box twice a week and never complains.  Ahsoka is her real name but we call her Sokie.  Gracie believe that this is her baby and you can often find her cleaning her and playing with her.  We have all grown to love this kitten.

This is how we take Callen to the movies! He LOVES popcorn!  So far this summer we have seen -
Alice Through the Looking Glass, Turtles 2, Captain America Civil War, and we have plans to see more.

We enjoyed a large water fight with our small group! The kids loved every minute of it!
Summer 2016 we are so thankful you are here!  Can't wait to share all the fun we will have with you.
