Going Bananas!!

I would love for you to head over to my class blog - Mrs. Haffner's Class and check out my class's October creativity project! Each child had to dress a banana and write a story about their banana! We had some very creative and cute bananas and I am very proud of them!

Amanda's birthday

My cousin Amanda's birthday was on October 9th and we spent the following Sunday out at my aunt and uncle's house celebrating her. Claire loves my aunt Jan and uncle Bill - and when we told her the night before about going to their house it was all she could talk about! When anyone asked her a question about anything her answer was - I am going to Bill and Jan's house! My aunt and uncle's house is such a relaxing place and we really enjoy going out there and spending time with them.
Fire fish!

BB and Claire enjoyed talking to one another in the fish

Happy Birthday Amanda! We love you!

Claire said "mommy take a picture of me and Jan!" then she proceeded to place Jan and herself for the picture!Showing me her pretty rocks she found

She kept saying - the fish is mad! or the fish is broken!

My kids are cute!

Blog Update

Last week my computer bid us a fairewell and crashed! Luckily we saw some signs that it was coming and we were able to transfere the 10,000+ pictures (all since Claire's birth) from the computer onto an external hard drive before the crash occured - about 30 minutes before, but we saved them!! So, with that being said, I am having to use my school laptop or Michael's computer. Once we figure out what exactly we want to do about storing my pictures I will update the blog. I have taken several more pictures over the past week and half that need to make it on here :) so stay tuned for some updates!

YUCK!!!

So I debated weather or not to even post about this because I am SO grossed out about it. But I thought that I did want to remember it - because if it had been recorded we would have won big bucks on America's Funniest Home Videos!!
Starting around 9 o'clock tonight I had been hearing a strange sound coming from my bathroom. I am always hearing something "weird" and Michael never finds anything so I was not going to call him in there on one of my crazy "I heard something" moments. I kept hearing this rustling sound but never saw anything so I would just tell myself I was imagining it. All this time I was picturing something horrible in my bathroom - snake, rat, a burglar (I have a vivid imagination). Cole and I were snuggling on my bed when the noise became louder and more apparent that I was NOT imagining things. I sat up out of bed just in time to see what I thought was a very large rat run out of the bathroom trash can and into my closet. I let out a very loud scream and Michael came running. I told him that I had seen a large rat in our bathroom that was over 4 inches long! Now when I see things that scare me I tend to over exaggerate (I'm being very transparent here). Snakes that are a foot long become 5 feet long, there were thousands of bees when really there were only 4 - you get the picture. So when I told Michael that this rat was over 4 inches long he said - whatever it is probably only a field mouse. He locked himself in the bathroom, shoved a towel under the door and went on a mouse hunt (with his night stick I might add). Several minutes later I start hearing banging coming from my closet and I know Michael has found the mouse. When he comes out of the bathroom my only question to him was - how big was it really??? I know that I exaggerate when I am scared - I BELIEVE the exaggerations when I am scared, so in my mind it was 4 inches long (the snake is really 5 feet long, there are really a thousand bees - you get the picture). I was SHOCKED when Michael told me that I was correct on the length. He was actually 9 inches long including the tail!!! I would have paid big bucks to see my husband chase a mouse around our closet with a night stick - the sounds that came out of there were hilarious enough. All I can imagine is ninja meets killer mouse!
I'm a little concerned on where the mouse came from. Here is what I am telling myself to get through the night and NOT check into a hotel. We have been leaving our back door open since the weather has been nice. Claire can just come and go as she pleases and we can see her at all times. My guess is that the mouse came in our back door. We also left the garage door open this morning while loading the car (it was open for a good 10 minutes before we left). So the mouse HAD to of come in during one of those times. That is what I am choosing to believe!!!

I leave you with a picture of our dearly departed guest.

Cole is 3 months old!

Our sweet Cole is 3 months old! I can't believe it - it has really flown by. You are doing so much more every day - here is what you are up to these days!
  • You roll from back to belly and belly to back
  • You wiggle yourself off of your playmat - the other day mommy didn't have you snapped into your bouncer and you wiggled half way out of it, you are now snapped in at ALL times.
  • You still eat every 3 hours but have been wanting to go longer at some points
  • You are talking like crazy!
  • You are laughing out loud - the sweetest thing ever.
  • You go to bed at 10:30 and sleep until almost 6!
  • You love your sister and she loves you
  • You are a very content baby - not much makes you cry. You usually only cry when you are hungry or cold.
  • We have had to up your acid reflux medicine to twice a day :( Dr. B still thinks you will grow out of it by 6 months a year at the latest.
  • If we didn't know any better we would swear you were teething - you want to chew on everything and drool like crazy!
  • You are wearing size 1 diapers
  • 0-3 month clothes are too small but 3-6 month clothes are too big, so we have to search for 3 month clothes.
  • You are now going to the nursery at church on Sundays and Wednesdays
  • You still light up our lives each and every day! We are SO thankful that you are apart of our family.

Playing in the park!

We are loving the fall weather around here. I love that we can take Claire to the park and not have to worry if it is too hot for Cole. We spent an hour this afternoon letting Claire run around our park. She had so much fun and didn't want to come home. I love that October brings cooler weather and fall decor! This is one of my favorite times of the year. The only thing I am not loving is having to go through both of the kids clothing and weed out everything that doesn't fit or work for cooler weather. Cole's clothes for the fall are too big for him right now so we are searching for some things we can make work for the next month or so until he grows into the next stage of clothing. Luckily we can throw a blanket on top of him and it all works out just fine!

Cheese!

They have so much fun together! I think Michael will be sad when she doesn't need his help at the park any more.

Trying to figure out how to make it up this thing.
